Homemade wholewheat bread

Ingredients

  • 750
    ml
    cake flour
  • 250
    ml
    each, oats, bran and wholewheat flour
  • 15
    ml
    sugar
  • 2
    ml
    salt
  • 500
    ml
    buttermilk
  • 10
    ml
    bicarbonate of soda
  • 500
    ml
    water
 

Method

1 3/4 hours
 
Preheat the oven to 160 °C.
Grease a large loaf tin.
Mix all the ingredients to make a soft, sticky dough.
Spoon into the greased loaf tin and bake for about 1 ¾ hours or until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped underneath.
Serve with butter.
