Homemade hamburgers

Ingredients

  • 400
    g
    lean beef mince
  • 4
    carrots, finely grated
  • 1
    onion, finely chopped
  • 3
    slices of bread, made into breadcrumbs
  • 20
    ml
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 1
    large egg, lightly beaten
  • 10
    ml
    sunflower oil
  • 40
    ml
    mayonnaise
  • 20
    ml
    chutney
  • 6
    hamburger buns
  • 1
    tomato, sliced
  • 2
    lettuce leaves, shredded
 

Method

8‑10 minutes
 
Mix together mince, carrots, onion, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce and egg. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Shape into six patties. Heat oil in a large frying pan and fry patties for five minutes on each side until browned. Mix together mayonnaise and chutney. Place patties on rolls and top with tomato slices, lettuce and mayonnaise mixture.
