  • 240
    g
    cake flour
  • 2
    ml
    cream of tartar
  • 2
    ml
    bicarbonate of soda
  • 2
    ml
    salt
  • 325
    ml
    curdled milk
  • oil for frying
 

Method

 
Sift the dry ingredients together and combine with the curdled milk to form a soft dough. Allow to stand for about 15 minutes. Roll the dough out on a floured surface until it is 5 mm thick. Cut into squares. Heat sufficient oil in a saucepan and fry the squares until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towelling. Fill with grated cheese or mince. Makes about 35.
