Hoison tofu and burnt chillies with cashews

    sesame oil
  • 4
    chillies, sliced
  • 1
    x 15 cm piece of ginger, cut into thin slices
  • 200
    g
    raw cashew nuts
  • 400
    g
    tofu, cut into 2 cm cubes
  • 60
    ml
    hoisin sauce
  • 60
    ml
    dark soya sauce
  • 60
    ml
    tamarind water
  • 200
    g
    fresh asparagus, steamed
 

Method

5 minutes
 
Heat the oil in a frying pan.
Add the chillies, ginger and nuts and cook for one minute.
Add the remaining ingredients and cook for two minutes or until the sauce reduces slightly.
Serve the tofu with jasmine rice cooked in coconut milk.
