Ingredients (9)

1.00 heel chicken
1.00 pinch salt and freshly ground black pepper
100.00 g butter
50.00 ml olyfolie
1.00 hand vol fresh sage
2.00 suurlemoene se skil
2.00 knoffelhuisies, heel met skil
500.00 ml milk
2.00 rooi uie, in kwarte gesny

Method:

Laat die botter saam met die olyfolie in ‘n
groot oondkastrol smelt. Geur die hoender
met die sout en swartpeper. Braai die hoender
in die kastrol tot die vel bruin is. Haal
die hoender uit en gooi die botterolie af.
Jy sal moet, want die botter raak donker
en dit sal nie ‘n aangename smaak hê nie.

Sit die hoender terug in die kastrol en voeg
die res van die bestanddele by, behalwe
die rooi uie. Sit die kastrol in ‘n warm oond
(180°C ) vir 1 uur. Jy sal sien die melk het
geskif. Sit nou die uie ook in die kastrol en
dan terug in die oond vir nog sowat 30-35
minute tot die hoender gaar is.
