Hamburger patties

    chicken stock cube
  • 100
    ml
    fresh breadcrumbs
  • 400
    g
    beef mince
  • 100
    g
    pork mince
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 5
    ml
    thyme
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
 

Method

 
Pour the chicken stock cube (dissolved in 100 ml boiling water) over the breadcrumbs and cool. Mix the remaining ingredients with a fork. Add the breadcrumbs and mix. Divide the mixture into 6 equal parts and shape into hamburger patties. At this point they can be frozen. Grease a baking sheet with oil and place the hamburger patties on it. Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF) and bake for 7-10 minutes or until done. Serve with savoury white sauce (see recipe), fried onions and mashed potato. Makes 6 hamburger patties.
