Ingredients (10)

10.00 guavas — peeled and halved
15.00 ml lemon — zest only
100.00 g sugar
30.00 ml brandy — optional
30.00 ml water
15.00 ml lemon juice
CRUMBLE
45.00 g oats
80.00 ml pecan nuts — or walnuts, finely chopped
30.00 ml cinnamon — ground
30.00 ml butter — melted

Method:

Remove the guava pips if desired and arrange the fruit in an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with the lemon rind and sugar. Blend the brandy, water and lemon juice and pour over the guavas. Combine all the ingredients for the crumble and sprinkle over the fruit. Bake for about 40 minutes or until the guavas are soft and the crumble mixture is golden brown. Serve with thin cream or plain yoghurt. Serves 6.
