Ingredients (7)

wooden skewers
1.00 kg sardines — fresh or frozen
3.00 lemons — large
bay leaves
fresh chillies — 573
1.00 lemon juice
sea salt

Method:

Soak skewers to prevent burning.
Wash and dry sardines and then skewer them with slices of lemon and bay leaves. Baste with olive oil and lemon juice.
Grill under a preheated grill or over a fire, preferably in a grid, and cook for about three minutes on each side.
Scatter with sea salt and serve immediately with fresh crispy bread and salad.
