Ingredients (12)

2.00 oats
250.00 ml sunflower oil
250.00 ml sesame seeds
250.00 ml almonds — chopped
250.00 ml coconut
250.00 ml bran
2.00 ml salt
250.00 ml oil
250.00 ml water — hot
200.00 ml honey
5.00 ml vanilla — essence
250.00 ml raisins — seedless

Method:

Preheat the oven to 140 °C. Mix the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix the liquid ingredients and add to the dry mixture. Mix well and spread evenly on two baking sheets.
Bake for about 1 1/2 hours until pale brown. Stir occasionally and check frequently that the mixture is not burning.
Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and leave to cool completely.
Add the raisins, mix well and store in an airtight container.
Serve with yoghurt and fruit.
Makes about 3 litres (12 c) granola.
