Grandma's lemon razzler

    g
    sugar
  • 1
    Litres
    boiling water
  • 1
    Litres
    cold water
  • 4
    grated rind and juice of lemons
  • 15
    ml
    cream of tartar
  • 10
    g
    active dried yeast
 

Method

 
Add the sugar to the boiling water and stir until the sugar has dissolved completely. Add the cold water, lemon rind and juice, cream of tartar, and yeast. Mix well. Pour into a clean bottle and stand for 3 hours at room temperature before chilling in the fridge. Serve with ice. Makes about 2 litres.
