    SPAR Rindless Streaky Bacon
  • 4
    panini rolls (or 1 French loaf)

    SPAR Butter, softened
  • 1

    SPAR Cream Cheese with Chives
  • 30
    g
    rocket leaves, or lettuce
  • 8
    SPAR Black Olives, pitted and sliced
  • 100
    g
    SPAR Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 0.50
    cucumber, sliced
  • 1
    tin
    SPAR Asparagus Spears, drained
  • 4
    tomatoes, sliced
  • 1
    bunch spring onions, sliced
 

Method

 
1. Cut the pieces of bacon in half, fry until crisp and set aside to cool.
2. Cut the bread rolls open and remove a little of the dough in the middle so that each roll is slightly hollow.
3. Spread some soft butter on the insides of the rolls, then layer the ingredients as preferred. Try any of these combinations: bacon, cream cheese, rocket and olives or grated cheddar, cucumber, asparagus, tomatoes and spring onions, or bacon, tomato, cucumber and spring onions. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
4. Close the rolls and wrap up tightly with string. Cover in clingfilm and refrigerate until ready to pack into the picnic basket.
5. When ready to serve, unwrap the rolls and cut into two or three pieces. Secure with a toothpick or wrap in a serviette and tie with a piece of raffia or string.
