190.00 ml butter
375.00 ml molasses
75.00 ml water — boiled
480.00 g flour — cake
10.00 ml Bicarbonate of soda
1.00 ml salt
7.00 ml ginger — ground
2.00 ml cinnamon — ground

Method:

Preheat the oven to 190 °C (375 °F). Spray two large baking sheets with non-stick spray.
Cream the butter until pale and creamy and add the molasses. Beat well and add the boiling water. Mix well.
Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the butter mixture. Mix to form a soft dough. Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight.
Roll into walnut-size balls and arrange on the baking sheet. Flatten slightly with a fork and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until done. Cool briefly on the baking sheet before placing on a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
Makes 144 cookies.
