Ingredients (5)

110 g flour — self-raising
1 tsp ginger — ground
1 tsp Bicarbonate of soda
40 g sugar
50 g butter

Method:

Preheat your oven to 180° C.
Mix ingredients by hand or in a machine:
Sift the flour, ginger and bicarb & sugar into the bowl, rub in the butter until the mix looks like crumbs.
Then add the syrup and mix until it forms a stiff paste.
Divide into balls, place on a greased baking sheet and press down with a spoon to flatten them a bit.
They do spread so don’t place them too close to each other, bake for 10/15 minutes until golden brown.
