Ingredients

  • SAUCE
  • 200
    g
    butter
  • 10
    ml
    cayenne pepper
  • 3
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 5

    garlic salt
  • 25
    ml
    fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2
    quantity basic scone dough

Method

Place all the sauce ingredients in a glass mixing bowl and microwave for a few minutes or until the butter has melted. Preheat the oven to 200 ºC (400 ºF). Spray a 20 cm loose-bottomed ring tin with non-stick spray or grease well. Prepare the scone dough as described in the basic scone recipe. Roll the dough out on a floured surface until about 2 cm thick. Cut out circles, 5,5 cm in diameter. Dip the circles in the sauce and pack fairly tightly in the prepared ring tin. Place the ring tin on a baking sheet and bake for about 35 minutes until done or golden brown. Serve hot with the remaining sauce. Makes a medium-sized loaf.
