Fruity nut bars

    green apples, peeled and cubed

    fresh orange juice

    pitted prunes, chopped
  • 125

    mixed dried fruit, chopped
  • 150

    mixed nuts, chopped
  • 80

    self-raising flour

    rolled oats
  • 25

    desiccated coconut

    poppy seeds

    sunflower seeds

    sesame seeds

    oil

    ml
    smooth apricot jam
 

Method

Heat apples and orange juice in a saucepan. Cover and allow to simmer gently for 10 minutes.
Mix to make a smooth purée. Remove from the heat and add all remaining ingredients, except for the apricot jam. Mix well to combine.
Press into a greased 36 x 26 cm baking tray.
Bake in preheated oven (180 °C) for 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and brush with the apricot jam to glaze. Cut into bars and allow to cool.
Store in an airtight container.
