Ingredients (13)

450.00 g currants
450.00 g sultanas
450.00 g raisins
225.00 g mixed citrus peel
225.00 g apricots — dried, chopped
450.00 g apples — cored, chopped
125.00 g walnuts — chopped
350.00 g brown sugar — soft
250.00 g suet — shredded
3.00 ml cinnamon — ground
oranges — grated rind, juice
lemons — grated rind, juice
300.00 ml brandy

Method:

Place all the ingredients into a large bowl and stir together thoroughly. Cover for 2 hours and then stir again. Sterilise glass storage jars by rinsing with boiling water and drying them at 110 ºC in the oven for 30 minutes. Carefully remove and allow to cool, then spoon in the mincemeat mixture. Seal and store in a cool place. This mincemeat will keep for up to one year.
