Fruit and nut crunchies

    butter
  • 7

    bicarbonate of soda
  • 30
    ml
    golden syrup
  • 140
    g
    rolled oats
  • 140
    g
    white bread flour
  • 210
    g
    castor sugar
  • 80
    g
    dessicated coconut
  • 50
    g
    raisins or dates, chopped
  • 50
    ml
    sunflower seeds
  • 20
    ml
    sesame seeds
  • 50
    g
    almonds or peanuts, chopped
 

Method

40 minutes
 
Melt butter, then stir in the bicarbonate of soda and syrup.
Mix the dry ingredients and stir in the melted butter.
Press into a greased 20 x 24 cm baking tin.
Bake in a preheated 160 °C oven for 40 minutes or until golden.
Cut into squares or rectangles while warm and store in an airtight container.
