Fritters

  • 1
    cup
    cake flour
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2
    tsp
    baking powder
  • 1
    Tbs
    sugar
  • pinch
    salt
  • 1/2
    cup
    milk
 

Method

15 mins
 
Mix all the ingredients into a batter.
Drop batter into a pan using a tablespoon.
Fry batter in shallow oil till golden brown and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Makes about 20 fritters

Variations:

For banana fritters:  add 1 mashed up banana and 1 tablespoon lemon juice to the above recipe.

For potato fritters: add 1 boiled mashed potato.

For pumpkin fritters: add 1 cup mashed up pumpkin and ½ teaspoon cinammon.

For sweetcorn fritters: add ½ cup kernals that have been drained.
