Fried bacon, apple and onion

  • 250
    g
    bacon
  • 2
    onions, thinly sliced
  • 1
    kg
    apples, peeled and diced
  • 15
    ml
    sugar
  • salt and milled black pepper
 

Method

 
Sauté bacon until crisp in a hot frying pan, over low heat. Remove and reserve. Add onions to pan with a little butter, if necessary. Fry until softened and pale gold, add apples, sugar and seasoning. Continue cooking for 1 to 2 minutes. Add reserved bacon and gently heat through. Sprinkle with freshly milled pepper and serve directly from pan, as an entrée.
