Fish cakes

    potatoes, peeled
  • 15
    g
    butter
  • 300
    g
    hake fillets
  • 1
    egg
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1
    onion, grated
  • 65
    ml
    fresh breadcrumbs
  • 250
    ml
    dry breadcrumbs
  • oil for frying
 

Method

 
1. Boil potatoes until tender. Drain well. Add butter and mash until smooth. 2. Steam fish until cooked through, drain and flake. Add to potatoes. 3. Add egg, salt, pepper, onion and fresh breadcrumbs. Mix well. 4. With lightly floured hands, shape into cakes. 5. Put dry crumbs in a dish. Coat each fish cake in crumbs. 6. Put them on a tray. Refrigerate for 1 hour. 7. Heat oil in a frying pan, fry until golden on both sides. Drain and serve.
