    vanilla essence

    cake flour

    baking powder

    cake mix
  • 125
    ml
    milk
  • 80
    ml
    water
  • 5
    ml
    cream-of-tartar
  • 250
    ml
    green and red glace cherries

1. Pre-heat oven to 180°C. Grease patty or cup cake pans and line with paper cups.

2. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat well until light and fluffy. Add vanilla essence.

3. Sift dry ingredients and add cake mix. Add this, alternately with the milk and water, to creamed mixture.

4. Whisk egg whites with cream-of-tartar until stiff. Using a large metal spoon, fold egg whites into flour mixture.

5. Pour batter into paper patty cups and decorate with cherries. Bake for 20-30 minutes.
