Fab cheese and chive scones

    flour
  • 20
    ml
    baking powder
  • 1
    pinch salt
  • 125
    g
    butter
  • 60
    ml
    mature cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 125
    ml
    sour cream
  • 30
    ml
    chives, chopped
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
Sift together the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Mix in the butter and cheese with your fingertips until the mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs.
With a butter knife, cut in the beaten egg, cream and chives.
Gently pat the mixture out into a round and cut scones with a cutter.
Bake on a greased tray for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve with quince preserve.
