Easy whole wheat bread

    nutty wheat flour

    salt
  • 45

    brown sugar
  • 90

    wheat germ
  • 70

    sesame seeds

    linseeds
  • 70
    ml
    poppy seeds
  • 70
    ml
    crushed wheat
  • 250
    ml
    seedless raisins
  • 125
    ml
    nuts of your choice

    dry instant yeast
  • 1.25
    l
    lukewarm water
  • olive oil
 

Method

Preheat the oven to 180ºC.

Prepare 4 medium sized bread pans by spraying them with Spray ‘n Cook.

Mix all the dry ingredients in a big mixing bowl.

Add the water to the dry ingredients and mix well. Spoon into the bread tins and use a pastry brush and brush the dough with olive oil.

Sprinkle some seeds of your choice over the top. Allow to stand for a 30 minute proof. 

Bake the breads for 45 - 50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean when inserted into the bread.

Serve with real farm butter and jam.

Tip: Buttermilk is used instead of water when bicarbonate of soda or baking powder is used instead of yeast.
