Ingredients (9)

10.00 ml sunflower oil
1.00 onion — large, chopped
450.00 g beef mince — lean
0.00 tinned tomatoes — chopped
2.00 ml dried thyme
20.00 ml Worcestershire sauce
250.00 ml mixed vegetables — frozen
400.00 g puff pastry — frozen, thawed
1.00 eggs — large, lightly beaten

Method:

Heat the oil in a large saucepan.

Add the onion and sauté until soft.
Add the mince and stir over high heat for three minutes.

Reduce the heat and add the tomatoes, thyme and Worcestershire sauce.

Simmer, uncovered, for five minutes.

Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper and add the veggies.
Simmer for a further five minutes.

Spoon into a greased pie dish.

Cover with pastry and make two small holes in the pastry to allow steam to escape.

Brush with beaten egg and bake in a preheated 200 °C oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until pastry is puffed and golden.

Serve with rice.
