Ingredients (14)

70.00 g butter
250.00 ml castor sugar
3.00 eggs — beaten
250.00 ml flour — cake
8.00 ml Baking powder
3.00 ml salt
50.00 ml milk
50.00 g brazil nuts — chopped
385.00 g apples — pie
30.00 ml brown sugar
10.00 ml cinnamon — ground
SAUCE
70.00 g butter
250.00 ml cream
125.00 ml castor sugar

Method:

1. Melt butter and sugar over medium heat until sugar has almost dissolved. Set aside to cool.
2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.
3. Mix the beaten egg into the butter and sugar and fold into the flour. Add the milk and nuts, blend well. Pour batter into a 220 mm square dish.
4. Arrange the apples on top of batter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Bake in the oven at 180 ºC for 1 hour.
5. Combine all the sauce ingredients and warm over medium heat until butter and sugar have melted. Pour the sauce over the pudding just before serving. Serve hot with ice cream.
