    cake flour
  • 10

    baking powder
  • pinch salt

    butter
  • 2
    eggs, whisked
  • 200

    sugar
  • 15
    ml
    cinnamon
 

Method

 
Sift the cake flour, baking powder and salt together. Rub in the butter using your fingertips until well mixed. Add the whisked eggs and mix thoroughly with a knife until a stiff dough is formed. Bring 500 ml water and a pinch of salt to the boil in a saucepan. Drop 12 dumplings into the boiling water (use two teaspoons). Mix the sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar over the dumplings in the saucepan and boil rapidly for about 3 minutes until the dumplings are done. (Do not cover the saucepan.) Pour the dumplings and sauce into a serving dish and keep warm. Bring 500 ml of water to the boil again in the saucepan and cook the remaining dumplings. Sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon sugar and cook until done. Add the contents of the pot to the dumplings in the serving dish. Serve hot with thin cream.
