'Drowned' ice cream (affogato)

  • 500
    ml
    vanilla ice cream
  • 125
    ml
    Frangelico, Amaretto or liqueur of your choice
  • 4
    shots very hot fresh espresso coffee
 

Method

 
Line up four coffee cups on saucers.
Put a scoop of ice cream into each one, topped with a shot of liqueur.
Pour a shot of espresso over the ice cream and serve immediately.
Tip
If desired, serve the liqueur and coffee separately and let guests pour liqueur and coffee over the ice cream themselves.
