    mixed dried fruit
  • 250
    ml
    malt vinegar
  • 15
    ml
    mustard powder
  • 15
    ml
    cayenne pepper
  • 15
    ml
    turmeric
  • 20
    ml
    salt
  • 8
    cloves garlic, halved
  • 250
    ml
    oil
  • 5
    ml
    ground cloves
  • 15
    ml
    peppercorns
  • 125
    ml
    golden syrup
 

Method

 
Wipe the fruit with a damp cloth. Cut into strips, if desired. Blend the vinegar and remaining ingredients. Pour over the fruit. Turn into sterilised jars and seal. Leave for 5 days before using. Makes about 1 litre.
