Double chocolate Valentine's brownies

    cake flour
  • 65
    ml
    sugar
  • 125
    ml
    cold margarine
  • 1
    x 397 g can sweetened condensed milk
  • 65
    ml
    cocoa powder
  • 1
    egg
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 3
    ml
    baking powder
  • 200
    g
    milk chocolate bar, broken into chunks
  • 180
    ml
    chopped walnuts
 

Method

 
Preheat oven to 180 °C. Line a 13 cm square baking pan with foil and set aside.
In a bowl, combine 250 ml flour and sugar and cut in the margarine until crumbly.
Press onto bottom of pan and bake for 15 minutes.
In another bowl, beat together condensed milk, cocoa powder, egg, remaining flour, vanilla and baking powder.
Mix in the chocolate pieces and nuts.
Spread over prepared crust and bake for 20 minutes or until set. Cool.
Use the foil to lift brownies out of the pan.
To make heart shapes, cut with a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
Dust with icing sugar just before serving.
