Ingredients (7)

450.00 g flour — bread or cake
7.00 ml salt
20.00 ml Baking powder
2.00 ml Bicarbonate of soda
30.00 ml brown sugar
30.00 ml dill — fresh and chopped or dried
340.00 ml beer

Method:

1. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda.
2. Add sugar and dill. Mix thoroughly.
3. Make a well in the centre and pour in the beer. Stir to combine, then knead lightly to form a stiff dough.
4. Place dough in a well-greased small loaf tin and bake in a preheated oven at 160 ºC for 1 hour, or until done. Test with a skewer.
5. Turn out on to a wire rack to cool before serving. Makes 1 loaf.
