  • 500
    ml
    water
  • 5
    ml
    bicarbonate of soda
  • 750
    ml
    okra, sliced
  • 3
    tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • salt and pepper
 

Method

 
1. Bring water to the boil. Add bicarbonate of soda. When dissolved add okra. 2. Add tomatoes and seasoning. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. 3. When okra overflows, it is cooked.
