Death by chocolate (made famous by The River Cafe, London)

    dark chocolate (70 percent cocoa solids)
  • 450
    unsalted butter
  • 12
  • 500
    castor sugar
  • 120
    Magnum death by chocolate ice cream


Heat oven to 160c.

Line a 27cm springform pan with foil.
Melt butter, chocolate and ice-cream and allow to cool.
Beat eggs and sugar until thick.
Fold into the cooled chocolate/ice cream mixture mixture.
Pour into prepared pan and place in a large baking tray and fill half way up the sides with boiling water bake for one hour 10 mins
Turn off oven and allow to cool in oven.
This rich oozy flourless chocolate cake is an absolute chocolate lovers must. Though be warned, this is very very rich!!
