Curried cabbage

    cabbage, chredded
  • SAUCE

    white sugar

    grape vinegar

    ml
    medium curry powder
  • 15
    ml
    mustard powder
  • 10
    ml
    salt
  • 5
    ml
    ground ginger
  • 65
    ml
    cornflour
  • 150
    g
    sultanas
 

Method

 
Place onions in a large stainless steel saucepan and cover with water. Boil until soft. Add cabbage and more water and just bring to the boil. Drain and return the cabbage mixture to the saucepan. Boil all the ingredients for the sauce together for five minutes. Stir occasionally. Pour over the cabbage mixture and boil for about five minutes. Spoon into sterilised jars. Makes 1,75 litres curried cabbage.
