    cake flour

    baking power
  • 30
    ml
    sugar
  • 25
    g
    butter
  • 30
    ml
    milk
  • 1
    egg
  • 30
    ml
    golden syrup or jam
 

Method

 
Grease 2 large cups well with margarine or butter. Sift together the dry ingredients. Melt the butter for about 1 minute in the microwave oven and add the milk and egg. Mix well and add to the dry ingredients. Mix till smooth. Spoon half the syrup into each greased cup, followed by half the batter. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and microwave for 2 minutes on 100 per cent power. Leave for about 5 minutes before turning out onto a plate. Serve with custard, if desired. Serves 2.
