Crumbed mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 500
    g
    fresh mushrooms
  • 500
    ml
    buttermilk
  • 5
    ml
    dried thyme
  • 15
    ml
    finely chopped parsley
  • 4
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • fresh breadcrumbs
  • oil for deep-frying
 

Method

± 20 min
 
Wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth. Blend the buttermilk, thyme, parsley and garlic in a large mixing bowl and marinate the mushrooms in the mixture for 2-3 hours. Remove the mushrooms with a slotted spoon, season with freshly ground black pepper and roll in the crumbs. Arrange on a baking sheet and chill for 30 minutes. Deep-fry in oil until brown on the outside or grill in the oven until golden brown. Thread the mushrooms onto kebab skewers and serve immediately. Serves 6.
