Ingredients (8)

500.00 g mushrooms
500.00 ml Buttermilk
5.00 ml dried thyme
15.00 ml fresh parsley — chopped
4.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
black pepper — freshly ground
breadcrumbs — fresh
oil — for deep frying

Method:

Wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth. Blend the buttermilk, thyme, parsley and garlic in a large mixing bowl and marinate the mushrooms in the mixture for 2-3 hours. Remove the mushrooms with a slotted spoon, season with freshly ground black pepper and roll in the crumbs. Arrange on a baking sheet and chill for 30 minutes. Deep-fry in oil until brown on the outside or grill in the oven until golden brown. Thread the mushrooms onto kebab skewers and serve immediately.
Serves 6.
