Cottage pie with rosti topping

    ml
    oil
  • 450
    g
    lean beef mince
  • 1
    onion
  • 1
    carrot
  • 80
    ml
    fruit chutney
  • 410
    g
    chopped tomatoes
  • 10
    ml
    dried cumin
  • 15
    ml
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 4
    potatoes
  • 40
    ml
    butter
 

Method

20 minutes
 
Heat oil in a saucepan. Add mince, onion and carrot. Cook over high heat, stirring until browned.
Add chutney, tomatoes, cumin and Worcestershire sauce and allow to simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
While the meat is simmering, peel and grate the cooked potatoes.
Season the mince with salt and freshly ground black pepper and spoon into a greased ovenproof dish.
Top with the grated potatoes.
Drizzle with melted butter, place under a hot grill and brown evenly for about five minutes.
