Cottage cheese and ham puffs

    smooth cottage cheese
  • 150
    ml
    milk
  • 15
    ml
    grated onion
  • 60
    ml
    fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 150
    g
    cornflour
  • 85
    g
    fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2
    ml
    paprika
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 2
    ml
    pepper
  • 5
    ml
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 2
    ml
    Tabasco sauce
  • 150
    g
    ham, diced
  • oil for deep-frying
 

Method

 
Blend the cottage cheese and milk. Add the onion, parsley and cornflour. Blend well with a wire beater to remove lumps. Add the breadcrumbs to form a fairly stiff batter. Add the remaining ingredients, except the oil, and blend well. Heat the oil in a deep saucepan and drop teaspoonfuls of the batter into the oil. Fry until browned on the outside and cooked inside. (The puffs should be fairly small, otherwise they take too long to cook.) Serve with predinner drinks. Makes 24-30 puffs.
