    ml
    self-raising flour
  • 300
    ml
    mealie meal
  • 5
    ml
    baking powder
  • pinch salt
  • 3
    eggs
  • 450
    ml
    milk
  • 20
    ml
    honey
  • 80
    ml
    oil
  • 410
    g
    whole kernel corn, drained
 

Method

 
Grease a flat-bottomed black pot or a few cans. Line the black pot with aluminium foil and grease once more. Sift the dry ingredients together. Beat the eggs, milk, honey and oil together. Add the corn and mix. Add the mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well. Turn into the prepared black pot or cans. Cover with the lid or aluminium foil. Place the black pot or cans on a grid over the coals and bake for about 1 hour or until the bread is done. Serve with butter, grape jam and cheese. Makes a large loaf.
