Serving Change
  • 500
    cubed ostrich
  • 250
  • 1
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • sea salt flakes
  • ground black pepper
  • 2
    Tbsp sunflower oil
  • steamed broccoli

Place the ostrich cubes in the Coca-cola in the morning. In the evening, wash the potatoes and chop into small cubes. Toss with the olive oil, salt and pepper and spread out on a baking tray. Bake at 200° C until cooked, golden and crispy on the edges. Heat the sunflower oil in a wok over a medium-high heat. Remove the ostrich from the marinade with a slotted spoon and stir-fry in batches for about 4 to 5 minutes or until the cubes of meat are medium-rare or still a little pink. (If you overcook the ostrich it will be tough.) Serve with the potatoes and broccoli. If you like, instead of the steamed broccoli, stir-fry some Asian greens, like bok choy, with chopped garlic and a little soy sauce before stir-frying the ostrich.
