Cinnamon cream pears

    ml
    unsalted butter
  • 30
    ml
    light brown sugar
  • 2
    large pears
  • 5
    ml
    ground cinnamon
  • 125
    ml
    thick cream
 

Method

 
Butter a shallow, oven-to-table dish. (Use a smaller dish, so that pears fit snugly.) Sprinkle half the sugar over buttered base of dish. Halve pears lengthways and remove cores. Do not peel. Place pears, cut side down, in dish. Sprinkle pears with remaining sugar and cinnamon. Bake in a preheated oven set at 200 ºC for 10 minutes. Pour cream over and bake for a further 20 minutes.
