160.00 ml butter — room temperature
160.00 ml margarine — at room temperature
250.00 ml brown sugar — soft
250.00 ml white sugar
2.00 eggs — extra-large
10.00 ml vanilla — essence
875.00 ml flour — cake
3.00 ml salt
5.00 ml Baking powder
500.00 ml dark chocolate — chips
250.00 ml pecan nuts — chopped

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and lightly grease a few baking sheets with butter or margarine, or spray with non-stick spray. Beat the butter and margarine together, add the brown and white sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla essence and beat well. Add the dry ingredients, chocolate chips and nuts. Mix well and roll into balls. Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten slightly with your finger and bake for about 10 minutes until they just begin to brown. Cool slightly on the baking sheets, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Store in airtight containers.
Makes about 90 cookies.
