Chocolate and pecan nut brownies

    butter
  • 15
    ml
    golden syrup
  • 3
    eggs
  • 500
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 375
    ml
    cake flour
  • 2
    ml
    salt
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 125
    ml
    chopped pecan nuts
 

Method

 
Preheat oven to 160 ºC. Grease a 20 cm x 24 cm rectangular tin. Melt chocolate, butter and syrup together and mix until smooth. Beat eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Sift dry ingredients together and add, with melted chocolate mixture, to creamed egg mixture. Add essence and nuts. Pour mixture into a greased tin and bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
