Chocolate and pecan nut brownies

    dark cooking chocolate
  • 125
    g
    butter
  • 15
    ml
    golden syrup
  • 3
    eggs
  • 500
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 375
    ml
    cake flour
  • 2
    ml
    salt
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 125
    ml
    chopped pecan nuts
  • 100
    g
    extra dark chocolate
 

Method

40-45
 
1. Pre-heat oven to 160ºC. Grease a 20cm rectangular tin.
2. Melt chocolate, butter and syrup together and mix until smooth.
3. Beat eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy
4. Sift dry ingredients together and add with melted chocolate
5. Pour mixture into a greased tin, sprinkle some whole nuts on top and bake for 40-45 minutes.
6. Melt chocolate and spoon over cake. Leave to cool.
