    onion
  • oil
  • 1
    head
    lettuce
  • 500
    g
    mince
  • 10
    ml
    tomato paste
  • 410
    g
    peas
  • 2
    ml
    nutmeg
  • salt and pepper to taste
 

Method

25 min
 
Sauté; the onion in a little oil till soft. Add the shredded lettuce and sir-fry till soft. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Fry the mince, a little at a time, till cooked and brown.
Return the onion mixture to the pan and mix. Add the tomato paste and peas. (If using canned peas, blend the tomato paste with the liquid.)
Season with nutmeg, and salt and pepper to taste.
Simmer till a thick sauce has formed.
Serve with rice or mashed potato.
