Chilli con carne

    oil

    onions, chopped

    cloves garlic, crushed

    lean beef mince
  • 410

    chopped tomatoes

    brown sugar
  • 5
    ml
    dried origanum
  • 3
    ml
    ground cumin
  • 15
    ml
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 250
    ml
    chilli beef stock
  • 100

    chilli Beef soya mince
  • 410
    g
    red kidney beans, drained
  • 2
    tomatoes, chopped
  • soft tortillas or rice, to serve
  • guacamole, grated cheese and sour cream, to serve
 

Method

50 minutes
 
1. Heat oil in a large saucepan and sauté onions and garlic until soft. Add mince and stir over high heat to brown. 2. Add canned tomatoes, sugar, origanum, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, stock and soya mince. Stir well to combine and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. 3. Add beans and chopped tomatoes and simmer for a further five minutes. Season to taste and serve wrapped in soft tortillas or with rice. Eat topped with spoonfuls of guacamole, cheese and sour cream.
