Chickpeas with red capsicum

    olive oil

    onion, chopped

    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1
    capsicum (red pepper), cut into strips
  • 3
    chorizo or Russian sausages, sliced (optional)
  • 440
    g
    chickpeas, drained
  • 5
    ml
    dried origanum
  • 5
    ml
    ground cumin
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
 

Method

 
Heat oil and sauté onion, garlic and pepper until transparent. Add sausage and brown lightly. Add chickpeas, herbs, cumin, salt and pepper. Heat through for about 5 minutes. Serve warm. Serves 6.
