Chicken with sweet chilli sauce

Ingredients (11)

8.00 chicken — pieces
lemon juice
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste
SAUCE
2.00 fresh chillies — chopped
12.00 garlic — cloves, chopped
65.00 ml brown sugar
45.00 ml white sugar
750.00 ml water
45.00 ml vinegar — white
salt — to taste
fresh coriander — chopped

Method:

Wipe chicken with a damp cloth. Squeeze a little lemon juice over and season with salt and pepper.
Grill, bake or braai until done to taste.
SAUCE: Place all ingredients, except coriander, in a saucepan and bring to a rapid boil. Continue boiling for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat slightly and continue to boil until sauce reduces to a third and thickens slightly, 30 to 40 minutes.
Spoon sauce over hot chicken and serve remaining sauce on the side.
