Cherry nut cake

    packet vanilla cake mix
  • 1
    container glacé cherries
  • 100
    blanched almonds, roasted and finely chopped
  • 2
    packets powdered cream, prepared to a thick consistency


Prepare the cake mixture according to directions on the packet, then add the cherries and two-thirds of the almonds. Pour into a 20 cm cake tin and bake until done. Cool slightly and turn out. Decorate the cake with the prepared powdered cream and sprinkle with remaining nuts. Serve with tea or slice into squares and serve with brandy sauce or thin custard for dessert.
