Ingredients (8)

15.00 ml margarine
15.00 ml flour
125.00 ml milk — low-fat
150.00 g mushrooms — sliced
2.00 ml mustard — powder
salt — to taste
cayenne pepper — pinch
50.00 ml cheddar cheese — or gouda cheese

Method:

1. Place margarine, flour, milk, mushrooms, mustard powder, salt and cayenne pepper into a saucepan over a medium heat.
2. Bring to boil, stirring continuously. Allow sauce to boil for 1 minute.
3. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese.
Makes about 200 ml sauce – enough for about 6 potatoes.
