    cheese biscuits, crushed

    melted butter

    extra-large eggs, separated
  • 15
    ml
    cake flour
  • 2
    ml
    salt
  • 1
    ml
    nutmeg
  • 250
    ml
    full cream milk
  • 1
    small onion, grated
  • 250
    ml
    grated cheese
  • 100
    g
    ham, diced
  • 15
    ml
    chopped parsley
  • 3
    rashers bacon, fried and finely chopped (optional)
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray a round 24 x 5 cm pie dish with non-stick spray. Mix all the ingredients for the crust together and press onto the bottom and along the sides of the pie dish. Chill until needed. Whisk the egg yolks until light. Add the cake flour, salt and nutmeg and beat well. Beat in the milk and add the remaining ingredients, except the egg whites. Mix well. Whisk the egg whites until soft peaks are formed and fold into the mixture. Pour into the prepared crust and bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown and set. Cool slightly and serve with a salad. Serves 6.
